About the position

The Parts Clerk is responsible for the receipt, verification, labeling, storage, documentation and security of all supplies in the parts department. This role involves the day-to-day operation of the shop parts department in compliance with established policies and procedures. The Parts Clerk plans, directs, and controls the activities of the parts department to ensure technicians have the parts needed to complete jobs in a timely manner. Additionally, the Parts Clerk is responsible for managing the proper inventory levels as directed and supporting the Fleet Manager with administrative duties, including processing vendor invoices for parts and service. The position requires evaluating the department's results and performances against assigned KPIs, maintaining high-quality standards of professionalism in serving customers, and performing other related duties as assigned. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day operation of the shop parts department in compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Plans, directs and controls the activities of the parts department to ensure technicians have the parts needed to complete jobs in a timely manner
  • Responsible for managing the proper inventory levels as directed
  • Responsible for supporting the Fleet Manager with administrative duties in addition to processing vendor invoices for parts and service
  • Evaluate the department's results and performances against KPI'S assigned
  • Maintain the highest quality standards of professionalism in serving the customer and identifying their needs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 - 3 Years of experience
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts (i.e. experience working in an auto parts store, auto dealership, truck dealerships, etc.)
  • Valid Driver's License to operate applicable company vehicles
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates/2-year Technical degree
  • 3 - 5 Years of experience
  • Three or more years experience in the maintenance field is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong work ethics with a commitment to work extra when needed
  • Computer application skills
  • Experience with tractor and/or trailer parts
