About the position

The Parts Counter Associate II at Nalley Hyundai is responsible for selling automotive parts to customers, both retail and shop, while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the right parts, managing orders, and ensuring efficient communication regarding parts availability and pricing. The associate plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience and supporting the overall operations of the parts department.

Responsibilities

  • Sell parts to customers over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of companion part requirements and ensure exposure to the full product line.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and counter inquiries, providing price quotes and information as needed.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts ordering and pricing alignment.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock and notify the parts manager of out-of-stock items.
  • Notify necessary parties when special ordered parts are received.
  • Ensure all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Follow department policy on special ordering of parts and manage S.O. aging.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts and replenish assigned inventory daily.
  • Maintain a prompt and efficient flow of paperwork.
  • Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
  • Verify will-call and back-order files weekly and manage returns to vendors.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer and phone skills, including Internet and MS Outlook.
  • Proficient in CDK is a plus.
  • Degree in automotive technology or military equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screen (background and drug test).
