About the position
The Parts Counter Person at International Border Trucking is responsible for assisting customers in selecting the required parts in a professional and efficient manner. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Informs customers of companion part requirements, specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
- Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information within a timely manner
- Reviews body shop estimates to ensure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
- Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
- Locates out-of-stock parts from an outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six-plus months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Flexible schedule - must be available to work some Saturdays
- Must have computer proficiency
- Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
- Valid driver's license
- Class 8 Commercial Parts: 1 year (Required)
