Beechmont Ford is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a Parts Apprentice. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $50,000 per year along with a comprehensive benefits package. The primary purpose of the Parts Apprentice is to sell parts to customers, both retail and wholesale, through various channels including over-the-counter sales, shop interactions, and phone inquiries. The role requires a proactive approach to customer service, ensuring that all customers receive the highest level of assistance and product knowledge. As a Parts Apprentice, you will assist walk-in customers in selecting the required parts, suggest companion products, and inform them of any specials available. You will be responsible for pulling purchases from stock and determining the availability of parts that are not in stock, including submitting emergency orders when necessary. Answering phone calls to provide price quotes and other relevant information is also a key responsibility. Additionally, you will assist outside sales representatives with their orders and set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up. The role involves verifying “will call” and “back order” files weekly, returning items to vendors, or stocking those not required. You will also solicit assigned accounts by phone and assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for ongoing repairs. It is essential to maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while working with all customers, ensuring that the same high level of service is provided to other dealership departments as well. You will be responsible for issuing credits for returned parts, ensuring that the original invoice or its number is available for verification. Additionally, you must ensure that all charge back sales are signed by customers and that tax-exempt sales are properly documented. Keeping the front and rear counter areas clean and organized is crucial, as is replenishing assigned inventory daily and advising the Parts Manager of any unsatisfactory conditions in the department. Staying current on new products and participating in training programs is also expected. Finally, you must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents immediately to a manager or supervisor.
