About the position
The Parts Counter Salesperson at Duval Ford is responsible for assisting customers in selecting and purchasing automotive parts. This role involves direct interaction with customers both in-person and over the phone, ensuring they receive the correct parts and information in a professional and efficient manner. The position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to manage inventory and fulfill orders accurately.
Responsibilities
- Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring exposure to the full product line.
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts ordering and pricing alignment with estimates.
- Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
- Pull and fill orders from stock.
- Pull orders for delivery to body shop, ensuring all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
- Follow up on back-ordered parts.
- Replenish assigned inventory daily.
- Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Organized and positive person
- Ability to read and understand technical information
- Strong communication skills to explain part information to customers and associates
- Experience with parts inventorying procedures preferred
- Ability to lift or move heavier items
