About the position

The Automotive Parts Counterperson at Fowler Dodge is responsible for assisting customers in identifying, locating, and purchasing automotive parts and accessories. This role requires strong communication skills and a passion for automobiles, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position involves providing high levels of service to both retail and wholesale customers, ensuring accurate order processing, and collaborating with team members to enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers warmly and assist in selecting required parts in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email, providing accurate and timely information.
• Review service repair order estimates to ensure parts ordered are correct and pricing aligns with estimates.
• Utilize electronic parts catalog systems to accurately identify automotive parts.
• Review wholesale customer requests to ensure parts are ordered and priced correctly, providing delivery dates.
• Collaborate with team members, including sales associates, technicians, and management to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate special orders, returns, and exchanges.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in automotive parts sales or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts, including components, brands, and compatibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and electronic parts catalogs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on new automotive technologies and products.
• Valid Driver's License and MVR acceptable to our Insurance Carrier.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
