About the position
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers and vendors in the automotive parts department. This role involves assisting customers with their parts needs, processing orders, and maintaining inventory. The position is situated in a supportive and engaging work environment that promotes employee growth and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to all customers and vendors.
- Process customer orders and recommend additional related parts.
- Gain superior product knowledge and understanding of vehicle components to effectively help customers.
- Assist with daily inventory, receiving, stocking, and shipping.
- Assist in maintaining perpetual inventories.
- Help maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the service counter, work area, and stockroom.
- Maintain records of time, expenses, and materials.
Requirements
- Must have parts counter experience.
- Understand basic automotive components and systems.
- A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Communication skills in person, writing, and over the telephone.
Nice-to-haves
- Sales experience (1 year preferred).
- Inventory control experience (1 year preferred).
