About the position

The Parts/Office Clerk at CAPA - Magic Valley Management Services plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the office and general departments. This position involves handling various administrative tasks, managing documentation, and assisting with parts ordering and inventory management. The clerk will work closely with supervisors and mechanics to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist general departments in day-to-day activities and office tasks.
  • Answer phone calls and emails.
  • Input all work-related documentation into the computer and file accordingly.
  • Generate work orders based on pre- and post-equipment checks.
  • Assist with managing gas and diesel delivery reports accurately.
  • Support the Parts Specialist with ordering, pickup, and delivery of parts.
  • Transport merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse, and production areas.
  • Lift and carry merchandise up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Load and unload merchandise to and from trailers, trucks, or vans.
  • Manage housekeeping activities when requested.
  • Operate manual material handling equipment such as printers and copiers.
  • Order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Complete all tasks as assigned within specified time limits.
  • Attend all safety training and certification classes.
  • Mark and store parts in the stockroom according to a prearranged system.
  • Comply with industry regulations and safety norms for conducting all jobs.
  • Assist with the proper handling of all testing and repair tools.
  • Assist mechanics in completing work orders.
  • Report damages and technical defects to the Manager and/or Foreman.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Shop Manager or Diesel Mechanic.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages.
  • Perform routine facility safety inspections, including electrical and shop mechanical checks.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly inventory for ordering, restocking, and reporting.
  • Acquire up to 3 quotes for parts and supply purchases.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in a mechanic shop preferred.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety procedures required.
