About the position

The Parts Purchasing Assistant Manager at MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Procurement Manager with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and project execution. This position focuses on establishing sourcing plans, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in procurement processes, particularly in the automotive manufacturing sector. Fluency in Korean is preferred to facilitate communication with headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Procurement Manager with strategic sourcing suppliers.
  • Issue and evaluate RFQs and manage commercial issues and negotiations.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and manage overall supplier relationships.
  • Establish new car sourcing plans and lead sourcing events.
  • Review and develop legal documentation such as RFQs, LOIs, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Analyze and clarify quote packages from suppliers.
  • Research and coordinate with potential suppliers as necessary.
  • Monitor cost analysis for parts and negotiate prices with suppliers.
  • Manage part development and implementation projects, including tactical execution and scheduling.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and internal customers to ensure timely program deliverables.
  • Communicate project status and obtain management guidance as required.
  • Lead suppliers to meet quality requirements during projects and respond to supply shortages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-specific experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Procurement role within the manufacturing/automotive industry.
  • Working experience with Hyundai, Kia, or MOBIS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial System Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and detailed knowledge of the Just In Sequence process in the automotive industry.
  • Excellent leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in procurement and automotive assembly/manufacturing processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Korean to communicate with Korean headquarters.
  • Experience in injection, press, welding, paint, and assembly processes.
