About the position
This position is responsible for inventory control in the maintenance shop, including receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous items while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials.
- Keep warehouse inventory current and inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment.
- Prepare materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement.
- Coordinate warehouse activities with production, sales, records control, and purchasing functions.
- Salvage damaged or used material and manage its disposal.
- Check all hand tools weekly, report problems, and replace them as needed.
- Inspect all issued equipment, including hand and portable power tools, and ensure they are replaced when needed.
- Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal.
- Safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area for parts and/or supply delivery.
- Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
