About the position

The Parts Sales Outfitter is responsible for maintaining and controlling the inventory of boat, motor, trailer, and ATV parts while assisting both external and internal customers with their purchases and inquiries. This role emphasizes a strong commitment to customer service, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience, and involves various tasks related to parts sales transactions, inventory management, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and control parts inventory for boats, motors, trailers, and ATVs.
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding retail parts, price quotes, and general information.
• Research customer inquiries using various resources.
• Perform sales transactions at the parts counter and over the phone.
• Safeguard funds received and perform daily till reconciliation procedures.
• Create purchase orders for parts needed for stock or customer requirements.
• Receive and check parts ordered against shipping documents for accuracy.
• Enter received parts into the IDS inventory tracking system.
• Organize received merchandise for easy retrieval.
• Verify payment receipt before shipping special order parts.
• Issue parts to technicians as per work order requirements and track inventory in IDS.
• Process refunds for returned parts or cancellations.
• Ensure returned and warranty parts are sent back to vendors for credit.
• Conduct required parts inventories as per schedule.
• Report and reconcile inventory shortages or variances.
• Maintain a clean and professional work area.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate discounts and percentages accurately.
• Strong communication skills in a friendly and professional manner.
• Good phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Basic computer skills and data entry capabilities.
• Marine knowledge is helpful.
