About the position

The Outside Salesperson role at Matthews Motors is focused on driving growth in parts and service sales within the Fleet Management sectors. The position involves developing new business, nurturing client relationships, and providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate should be motivated, knowledgeable about vehicle parts and maintenance services, and experienced in selling to businesses such as fleets and repair shops.

Responsibilities

  • Identify New Sales Opportunities by prospecting, identifying, and qualifying new customers within the fleet management sectors.
  • Build and Maintain Customer Relationships by developing and nurturing long-term relationships with clients.
  • Conduct Client Needs Assessments by meeting with customers to understand their specific requirements for parts and service solutions.
  • Present and Sell Products and Services by demonstrating detailed knowledge of parts inventory and service offerings to clients.
  • Negotiate Sales Agreements by preparing and presenting quotes, handling negotiations on pricing and terms, and closing sales agreements.
  • Achieve Sales and Revenue Targets by meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets through effective sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams to ensure seamless delivery and support for clients' needs.
  • Monitor Market Trends and Competitor Activity to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Provide After-Sales Support by following up with clients post-sale to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
  • Report on Sales Activities by maintaining accurate records of sales activities and providing regular updates to sales management.

Requirements

  • Proven outside sales experience in the automotive or trucking industry, with a focus on parts and services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel to client locations as needed.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus but not a deal breaker.
