About the position

The Parts Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to both retail and installer customers. This role supports store management in various tasks and ensures that customers receive assistance in selecting merchandise, processing transactions, and resolving complaints. The position emphasizes a high level of service and adherence to company policies and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote all company customer service programs.
  • Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
  • Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
  • Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
  • Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items.
  • Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process transactions accurately.
  • Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  • Assist with daily operational tasks including freight receival, stocking shelves, and cleaning.
  • Prepare merchandise returns to be shipped to the distribution center and assist with inventory counts.
  • Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training.
  • Perform in-store services for customers where allowed by law.
  • Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with automotive parts and cataloging systems.
  • ASE certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
