About the position
The Parts Specialist position at O'Reilly Auto Parts focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to both retail and installer customers. This role supports store management in various tasks and is essential in maintaining a high standard of service and operational efficiency within the store.
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote all company customer service programs.
- Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
- Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent service to customers calling the store, accurately looking up parts and quoting prices.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process transactions, and handle exchanges and returns.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily operational tasks including freight receival, stocking shelves, and cleaning.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training.
- Perform various in-store services for customers where allowed by law.
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with automotive parts and cataloging systems.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
