About the position

The Parts Specialist at Covington Heavy Duty Parts is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and managing parts sales transactions. This role involves assisting both retail and wholesale customers with their auto parts needs, operating the point of sale system, and maintaining inventory. The position requires a strong understanding of auto parts and excellent communication skills to effectively convey product information and warranty policies to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Handle cash, credit card, and other purchasing transactions.
  • Operate the electronic and paper cataloging system to retrieve up-to-date parts information.
  • Operate the store point of sale system (Karmak) to search for parts and customer accounts, and to invoice and pull orders.
  • Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all store customers.
  • Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as professional conduct and appearance at all times.
  • Assist both retail and wholesale customers with their auto parts questions and needs, either in person, via the telephone, or through online ordering.
  • Pull and prepare inventory orders for customer pick up or delivery.
  • Assist customers with ordering and restocking parts.

Requirements

  • Auto parts knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Automotive background is a plus.
  • Able to adjust and adapt to changes.
  • Must pass background and drug screen.
  • Computer literacy, knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of parts required.
  • Fleet sales experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to communicate and interact in a positive and professional manner.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of rental equipment is preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
