About the position

The Parts Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for providing exceptional service to retail and installer customers. This part-time role involves assisting customers with their merchandise selections, supporting store management, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through various service programs. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, and the position includes a variety of operational tasks to maintain store efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs.
• Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process transactions accurately, and handle exchanges and returns.
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Assist with daily operational tasks including freight receival, stocking shelves, and cleaning.
• Prepare merchandise returns to be shipped to the distribution center and assist with inventory counts.
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training.
• Perform in-store services for customers where allowed by law.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with automotive parts and cataloging systems.
• ASE certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
