About the position

The Parts Supervisor at Carolina CAT is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the performance of the local branch parts department. This includes managing operations, revenues, expenses, profitability, assets, budgeting, and financial management. The supervisor is expected to foster a team-oriented atmosphere while ensuring high employee satisfaction and productivity. This role requires collaboration with the Manager and Human Resources to ensure compliance with safety and contamination control guidelines, as well as conducting performance development plans for all branch parts personnel. The Parts Supervisor will also work closely with the Service Departments to provide exceptional product support to customers, ensuring seamless communication between parts and service associates. In addition to these responsibilities, the Parts Supervisor will manage parts logistics, including transportation, vehicle maintenance, and supply ordering procedures. The role demands an extensive understanding of various applications such as DBS, SIS, ANTARES, and SAP to enhance customer service quality. The supervisor will also be responsible for validating the condition of parts for returns and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all parts ordered by both internal and external customers. General housekeeping duties and other assigned tasks will also be part of the job description, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance of the local branch parts department including operations, revenues, expenses, profitability, assets, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Provide input on staffing for local parts operations, assigning job responsibilities and ensuring productivity and quality.
  • Maintain a high degree of employee satisfaction and productivity while holding team members accountable for their actions.
  • Meet set objectives across the department aligned with the Corporate Mission and Value Statement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and contamination control guidelines in collaboration with the Manager and Human Resources.
  • Conduct mid-year and annual Performance Development Plans with all branch parts personnel.
  • Identify merchandising opportunities in the Retail lobby in collaboration with the Manager.
  • Work seamlessly with the Service Departments to provide the best product support available to customers.
  • Manage parts logistics including transportation, vehicle maintenance, and supply ordering procedures.
  • Review supplies necessary for operations and exercise proper ordering procedures.
  • Utilize applications like DBS, SIS, ANTARES, and SAP to expedite quality customer service.
  • Validate parts for usability and returnability for returns.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all parts ordered by customers.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of parts experience in inventory control and asset management.
  • Strong management skills including motivating, change management, conflict resolution, and project management.
  • Proven experience in parts distribution, human relations, training, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop effective solutions to problems.
  • Excellent planning ability that aligns corporate vision with decision-making.
  • Intermediate PC skills, especially with MS Excel, SAP, and Word.
