About The Position
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is seeking a PAS Assessor to join its Division of Member and Provider Services. This full-time position is responsible for determining medical eligibility for customers applying for the Arizona Long Term Care Services (ALTCS) program. The PAS Assessor will conduct comprehensive Pre-Admission Screenings (PAS) through face-to-face interviews using a designated PAS instrument. The role requires independent work, including driving to various locations, such as homes and institutions, to complete interviews and gather necessary documentation. The PAS Assessor will maintain electronic case files, update the Health-e-Arizona Plus system, and may also conduct financial eligibility interviews to assess ongoing financial eligibility and share of cost for customers. In this role, the PAS Assessor will be expected to manage and monitor their caseload effectively, ensuring timely scheduling of interviews and documentation of follow-up actions. The position involves obtaining and reviewing medical records, interacting with family members, caregivers, and other professionals to evaluate medical and psychosocial conditions. The PAS Assessor will also collaborate with other state agencies, such as Adult Protective Services and the Department of Child Safety, to ensure comprehensive service delivery. Participation in staff meetings and special projects is also a key component of this position, contributing to the overall mission of AHCCCS to provide high-quality health care to Arizonans in need.
