About the position

The Sales Operations Coordinator at Geiger plays a crucial role in supporting the Sales Team by providing essential product drawings and specifications tailored for commercial furniture designers and space planners. This position is pivotal in creating innovative product solutions that address workplace needs, leveraging insights from planning, interior design, and architecture. The coordinator is responsible for crafting office and workplace layouts in response to client RFPs, ensuring that Geiger's product lines are effectively positioned against competitors by mastering current trends. In addition to creating layouts, the Sales Operations Coordinator participates in ongoing training and education initiatives, reinforcing Geiger's status as an industry leader. The role involves fielding calls and requests for application guidance from both internal and external audiences, collaborating closely with the national Sales Team to develop custom solutions for casegoods and ancillary furniture. The coordinator engages with internal teams to inspire optimal solutions and improvements, providing necessary documentation for the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to produce furniture successfully. The position also requires delivering detailed specifications and pricing for custom furniture solutions, driving client value through value-engineered solutions. The coordinator articulates applications using tools like Vectorworks and 4D, serving as a liaison between internal partners and the architecture and design community. A key aspect of the role is to maintain showroom standards and ensure a high-quality customer experience for end-user clients and the Architect & Design community. Regular inventory checks of sales resources are also part of the responsibilities, along with performing additional tasks as needed to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create office and workplace room layouts and drawing typicals in response to RFPs from clients.
  • Master understanding of Geiger Product lines as it relates to current trends and how to best position them against competitors.
  • Participate in regular internal and external training and education initiatives that support Geiger's efforts to sustain its position as an industry leader.
  • Field calls and requests from internal and external audiences for Applications guidance and support.
  • Partner with the national Sales Team to create Geiger custom solutions for casegoods and ancillary furniture.
  • Engage with internal teams to inspire optimal solutions and internal improvements.
  • Provide documentation essential for Geiger Engineers and Manufacturing team to successfully produce furniture.
  • Provide detailed specifications and pricing for custom furniture solutions.
  • Drive optimal client value-add and value-engineered solutions.
  • Articulate applications within Vectorworks, 4D, and other tools as applicable to support various product application needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal partners (sales, order entry, manufacturing and engineering) and the A&D community (furniture dealers, architecture firms and interior design firms).
  • Support Geiger sales team by delivering excellent showroom-based customer experience for end user clients and the Architect & Design community.
  • Maintain showroom standards as mandated by the MillerKnoll Customer Experience Team.
  • Conduct regular inventory of sales resources so they are readily available for client needs.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, industrial design, or furniture design from an accredited program; or equivalent years of experience.
  • Three to five years of prior design related experience or experience in custom cabinet design, millwork design, and/or manufacturing preferred.
  • Contract furniture experience preferred.
  • Strong sense of the customer and sales process and proven ability to facilitate customer and field interaction.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to create, specify, and present design solutions.
  • Knowledge of CAD software applications; Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or product specification and drawing software.
  • Vectorworks experience is ideal.
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
