About the position

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Pasadena is seeking a dedicated Donation Attendant to join our retail team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission of helping individuals in their rehabilitation journey. As a Donation Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive shopping and donor experience at our Pasadena Donation/Warehouse location. Your efforts will directly support the Adult Rehabilitation Program, which is vital for the success of our participants. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the donation process. This includes maintaining and cleaning the donation area, assisting donors with their contributions, and ensuring that all donated items are sorted and stored properly. You will also be required to keep accurate reports and paperwork as instructed by your supervisor. Your ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors will be essential in promoting teamwork and enhancing customer service. The position requires physical stamina, as you will be handling items weighing up to 75 lbs and performing various repetitive motion tasks. Flexibility in your schedule is necessary, as you may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate coverage for our operations. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and cleaning the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items and providing receipts
  • Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
  • Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers and properly stacking material as instructed by the Supervisor
  • Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
  • Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
  • Securing and locking the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
  • Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts
  • Ability to move product up to 75lbs
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
