Pashto/Dari/Farsi Interpreters - Houston, TX

About the position

MasterWord Services is currently seeking dedicated individuals fluent in Pashto, Dari, and/or Farsi, as well as English, to join our team as interpreters in Houston, TX. This role is crucial for assisting individuals with limited English proficiency, allowing them to navigate healthcare and community services effectively. Your role will involve facilitating communication between English-speaking professionals and Pashto/Dari/Farsi-speaking clients, ensuring that all parties understand each other clearly. Candidates should possess informal or professional interpretation experience and be fluent in both Pashto/Dari/Farsi and English. The ability to commute for in-person assignments within the Houston area is essential for this role, as many assignments will require physical presence to facilitate effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services in Pashto, Dari, and/or Farsi for clients with limited English proficiency.
• Facilitate communication between healthcare professionals and non-English speaking clients in various settings.
• Ensure cultural appropriateness and sensitivity in all interpretation services provided.
• Commuting to various locations within the Houston area for in-person assignments as required.

Requirements

• Fluency in Pashto/Dari/Farsi and English.
• Informal or professional interpretation experience.
• Preferred: At least a two-year degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Experience in the healthcare industry, such as pharmacy tech, nursing home, hospital, hospice, patient tech, or volunteering at a hospital.
