About the position

The Passenger Service Agent at Avianca Airlines is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to passengers during the check-in process for both international and domestic flights. This role involves verifying documentation, managing seat assignments, and ensuring that passengers receive the correct boarding passes. The agent will also assist with baggage tagging and maintain communication with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Computerized check-in for passengers traveling internationally and domestically.
  • Assign seats to passengers and verify documentation for flights.
  • Ensure correct boarding passes are provided for assigned flights.
  • Verify ticket and seat reservations for passengers.
  • Match manifest to onboard count for accuracy.
  • Assist with various governmental agency requirements as needed.
  • Connect and disconnect jetway/stairs as necessary for boarding and deplaning.
  • Maintain liaison with airlines, customer representatives, and ground handlers.
  • Announce arrivals and departures as necessary during shifts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all flight times during the shift.
  • Provide information to customers regarding flights and services.
  • Assist with baggage tagging and claim reports.
  • Close and transfer flight information at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • Must speak English and Spanish fluently.
  • Experience in customer service or a related field is preferred.
