About the position

The Passenger Service Agent at Horizon Air plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless travel experience for guests. This position involves assisting guests with various travel needs, including check-in, baggage handling, and addressing inquiries or complaints. The agent is responsible for managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced airport environment while maintaining a welcoming demeanor and adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with travel needs, including answering inquiries and handling baggage.
• Check-in passengers and board flights efficiently.
• Ensure cabin accommodations are met for all guests.
• Assist with mishandled guests due to oversold, delayed, or canceled flights.
• Evaluate and prepare flights by arranging seat assignments and making announcements.
• Process and secure guest luggage, entering claims for delayed or damaged luggage.
• Perform various duties as assigned to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.
• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
• Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
