About the position
The Sunshine Method is seeking passionate and experienced tutors to provide personalized tutoring and mentorship to students across various grades and subjects. This part-time, contract position allows educators to work one-on-one with students, creating tailored lesson plans and offering academic support to help close the Educational Achievement Gap, particularly in underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Create personalized instruction and mentorship for young and struggling learners.
- Conduct structured and organized lessons in students' homes, public locations, or remotely.
- Advocate for higher education and career-focused training.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment for students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or in progress of obtaining one.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring or related experience.
- Prior experience in education or a related field will be considered in lieu of a higher education degree.
- Must pass a level 2 background check to work with minors.
- Access to a computer or smart device with a webcam and microphone, and reliable internet access.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience mentoring preferred.
- Special Education, Bilingual, and other additional certifications.
