About the position
The Sunshine Method is seeking passionate and experienced tutors to provide personalized tutoring and mentorship to students across various grades and subjects. This part-time, contract position allows educators to work flexibly while making a significant impact on the educational achievement of underserved communities. Tutors will create tailored lesson plans and offer academic support to students in need, contributing to the mission of closing the Educational Achievement Gap.
Responsibilities
- Create personalized instruction and mentorship for young and struggling learners.
- Conduct structured and organized lessons in students' homes, public locations, or remotely.
- Advocate for higher education and career-focused training.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment for students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or in progress of obtaining one.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring or related experience.
- Prior experience in education or a related field will be considered in lieu of a higher education degree.
- Must pass a level 2 background check to work with minors.
- Access to a computer or smart device with a webcam and microphone, and reliable internet access.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience mentoring preferred.
- Special Education, Bilingual, and other additional certifications.
