About the position

The Pastor of Small Groups and Memberships at Rooftop Church is a full-time ministerial role focused on leading and growing the small group ministry as a primary means of community and discipleship. This position also involves managing the church's membership roster, providing pastoral care, and supervising ministry leaders while participating in shared responsibilities within the church staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the small group ministry, ensuring it serves as a primary means of discipleship.
• Start new small groups and oversee the sign-up process during designated times.
• Maintain contact with small group leaders for support and equipping.
• Visit small groups annually to provide feedback and address member questions.
• Ensure small group instruction aligns with Rooftop's Statement of Faith.
• Identify and train future small group leaders.
• Publicize the importance of small group-based discipleship.
• Help members discover their mission as followers of Jesus.
• Provide support to members in crisis or conflict, guiding them through challenges.
• Model discipleship through mentoring and prayer with selected leaders and members.
• Encourage and challenge members through communication and visits.
• Conduct meetings with potential new members and the Elders.
• Manage and update the Fourth Floor membership database.
• Preach approximately once every 4-6 weeks, overseeing Sunday morning programming on those Sundays.
• Support assigned ministry leaders by coordinating their ministries and providing pastoral support.
• Provide pastoral leadership and counsel to members in need, performing weddings and funerals as requested.
• Work with the Lead Pastor on general church leadership tasks and maintain a regular office presence.
