About the position

We are accepting applications and will screen them carefully for consideration in future business needs. As a member of the Post Ranch Inn, the Pastry Sous Chef will lead the pastry operations to ensure a unique guest experience. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring production, presentation and standards are in alignment with the ethos of Post Ranch Inn.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of pastry, chocolate work, and baking techniques.
• Great attention to detail in every aspect of kitchen operations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Interested in fresh garden harvesting and creative plating techniques.
• Must have experience engaging in professional social media for marketing purposes.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Requires repetitive motions such as grasping, stooping, bending, lifting and pulling.
• Ability to communicate in English is required, basic Spanish preferred.
• Must have 3+ years prior Pastry Chef experience in a fine dining restaurant or boutique resort.
• Familiar with local Department of Health regulations and either have, or be able to provide a CA Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.
