About the position

The internship at Zoetis offers veterinary students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in animal health research, particularly in anatomic pathology. Interns will collaborate with the Global Therapeutics team and board-certified pathologists, contributing to product development and engaging in various research activities. This role is ideal for 2nd or 3rd year veterinary students with a keen interest in pathology.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of Zoetis Animal Health products by preparing study protocols and data capture forms.
  • Monitor internal studies and review data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist board-certified anatomic pathologists with necropsies and histopathologic evaluations.
  • Aid in tissue trimming, slide preparation, and digital slide scanning in the Molecular Pathology group.
  • Attend regular pathology rounds and presentations on various organ systems and disease conditions.
  • Create a scientific poster to present findings from summer research projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program with an interest in veterinary bioscience, pathology, or toxicology.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, along with strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, detail-oriented, and capable of remote communication via platforms like Zoom and Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in animal science or toxicology graduate programs may be considered.
