About the position
The Pathways for Native Educators Coordinator (PNEC) at Southern Oregon University is responsible for building a pipeline into teaching for Native educators and supporting pathways for behavioral health programs. The role involves collaboration with Tribal Partners and Indigenous communities, publicizing SOU's educator licensure and behavioral health programs, and engaging with prospective students and educational institutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of programmatic systems for educator licensure and behavioral health programs.
- Assist with fiscal planning and tracking spending progress for educational equity grants.
- Craft and send timely communications to prospective and current students.
- Meet with local and regional Tribal partners to promote SOU education pathways.
- Plan events and professional development workshops for students and faculty.
- Liaise with SOU's Education Department and behavioral health programs for program marketing and planning materials.
- Assist students with onboarding processes including applications and financial aid.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field.
- Experience with Oregon Teacher Licensure (TSPC) requirements.
- Experience working with Tribal entities and knowledge of Tribal history, politics, and sovereignty.
- One year of experience in basic grant management including budget and report writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with Oregon Tribal entities.
- 3+ years of experience working with Tribal partners.
- Experience as a licensed teacher in Oregon K-12 schools.
- Experience as a principal investigator on a grant.
