About the position
The Patient Access Associate at Galloway Endoscopy Center is responsible for coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely processing of patient information. This role involves addressing patient questions and concerns while maintaining knowledge of insurance requirements, pricing, financial assistance options, and overall revenue cycle operations at Baptist Health South Florida. The associate is expected to provide professional, passionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members, embodying the organization's philosophy of service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely processing of patient information.
- Address patient questions and concerns effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and Baptist Health pricing.
- Provide information on financial assistance options available to patients.
- Support overall revenue cycle operations at Baptist Health South Florida.
- Deliver professional and friendly service to patients and their families.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, training, or experience).
- Completion and passing of the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
- Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications).
- Accurate typing skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.
