About the position

The Patient Access Receptionist plays a crucial role in supporting the multi-specialty practice at Hunt Regional Medical Partners by managing various clerical and administrative tasks. This position is essential for ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and assist with follow-up appointments.
  • Schedule patients and manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling.
  • Check patients in and out of the system.
  • Collect copayments and counter payments from patients.
  • Ensure completion of required forms for patient visits.
  • Scan and index documents into the system.
  • Account for daily encounters and balance the cash drawer.
  • Transmit documents to all external entities as needed.
  • Prepare paperwork for daily clinic operations.
  • Enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
  • Post charges and copayments appropriately within the billing system.
  • Manage outstanding patient balances and collect payments as patients flow through the clinic.
  • Convey overpayments to the appropriate parties.
  • Call and confirm patient appointments.
  • Document photos for patient charts.
  • Manage pharmaceutical representatives, samples, and meetings throughout the office.
  • Coordinate identification and insurance information with the on-site lab draw station.
  • Coordinate external lab pickups.
  • Support physicians and coworkers with general administrative tasks.
