About the position

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for completing the registration process for admissions and ensuring that inpatient and outpatient procedures are eligible and documented accurately. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service and facilitating smooth patient interactions within the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

  • Collects all pertinent information to register patients for exams or tests
  • Schedules exams and coordinates multiple modalities schedules
  • Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Collects payments, establishes payment arrangements, and discusses payment options
  • Performs all other assigned duties related to Environmental Services

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience as a patient access representative, customer service representative, or in a similar administrative role
  • Excellent customer service skills; must speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Ability to multi-task and handle problems, interruptions, and stressful situations professionally
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational skills, and ability to follow through until a process is complete
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge is a plus
