About the position

As a Patient Access Representative at JAG Physical Therapy, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the healthcare environment, delivering quality patient care, and providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients, managing appointments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting insurance-related processes to facilitate healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and other visitors in the medical office.
  • Answering patient questions and providing assistance and directions when necessary.
  • Fielding all phone calls that arrive using the general office number.
  • Utilizing medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for patients.
  • Registering new patients and updating necessary records.
  • Distributing forms and paperwork to patients to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately.
  • Daily collection of patient financial responsibility.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all patient records.
  • Completing and tracking insurance verifications, authorizations, and referrals.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and Auto claim submissions.
  • Performing other diverse duties as requested or required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant certificate program preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working as a medical receptionist/administrative assistant in the health care field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Availability to travel throughout JAG locations for coverage.
