About the position

The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients at the hospital, embodying the organization's values of integrity, respect, and compassion. This role is crucial in ensuring a welcoming environment, accurately registering patients, and processing payments. The representative is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service and data accuracy, contributing to overall patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain a Department registration information completeness/accuracy of 95%.
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives as defined in the annual individual work plan.
  • Facilitate Time of Service (TOS) Collection as directed by Hospital and Department policy and procedures.
  • Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to safety and job-related hazards.
  • Follow hospital exposure control plans and demonstrate knowledge of protective barrier equipment usage.
  • Interact with patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Experience in a professional setting with customer service responsibility preferred.
  • A.A.H.A.M. Certification as Certified Patient Accounts Technician (C.P.A.T.) preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • B.S./B.A. or A.A. degree, or some college preferred.
  • Continuous demonstration of team orientation and customer-focused behaviors.
