About the position

The Patient Access Representative will be responsible for managing front office operations, including patient check-ins, scheduling appointments, and handling insurance verification. This role requires cross-training to ensure coverage for various front-end tasks, as well as effective communication with patients and healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner, responding to requests and inquiries or directing calls to clinical personnel.
  • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and helpful manner.
  • Obtain patient demographic information and accurately enter and update Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Schedule patient appointments and ensure that all required follow-up is complete.
  • Confirm future appointments following established protocols.
  • Ensure faxes are processed and entered into the EMR systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, particularly in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using computers and handling phone calls.
  • Experience with insurance verification and patient check-in processes.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a high-volume call environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
