About the position

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) at Oklahoma ER & Hospital plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to patients and guests. This position involves greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring accurate collection of demographic and financial information. The PAR is essential in maintaining a professional environment and supporting the hospital's commitment to concierge-level care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Manage check-in and check-out functions by obtaining accurate patient demographic and financial information.
  • Collect necessary signatures and co-pays from patients.
  • Maintain accurate logs of patient information and financial transactions.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and direct callers appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including patient care areas.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Medical office experience, preferably in an emergency department setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital or clinic setting for at least 1 year.
  • Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative.
