About the position

The Patient Access Representative at Women's Care serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the clinics, focusing on customer service and efficient registration processes. This role involves collecting patient information, managing billing inquiries, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, all while embodying the mission and core values of Women's Care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all patients and visitors; guide them to appropriate areas as needed.
  • Obtain and confirm patient demographics and update patient profile.
  • Collect payment and/or assist patients with minor billing concerns.
  • Scan pertinent information into the EMR system (HIPAA compliance, authorizations, medical records, etc.).
  • Respond to non-medical patient emails and phone calls.
  • Demonstrate and embody the Women's Care mission and core values.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferably one year of experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting, OBGYN experience is a plus.
  • General knowledge of medical terminology is ideal.
  • Preferred experience working with an electronic medical records system, eCW is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume and dynamic atmosphere.
  • Ability to communicate and work efficiently with patients, co-workers, and providers.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Ob/Gyn setting is preferred.
