As a Patient Access Specialist I at Monument Health, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate patient-focused care. Responsibilities

• Accurately collect patient demographics and confirm identity and coverage information.
• Assist in achieving strategic objectives by following Revenue Cycle guidelines.
• Demonstrate knowledge of payer information and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Perform point of service collections and daily reconciliation of cash drawer.
• Provide patients with basic account reconciliation and cost estimates for services.
• Educate patients on required forms and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Handle business office duties including phone calls, patient communications, and mail distribution.
• Provide service excellence through friendly and caring interactions with customers.
• Manage patient scheduling and check-out processes, including pre-arrival management.
• Maintain registration-related work queues and resolve errors as needed.
• Attend all mandatory education and compliance sessions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• 1+ years of patient relations experience.
• 1+ years of experience in medical patient accounts or financial services.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of electronic medical records.
