About the position

The Radiology Admin position at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is responsible for accurately scheduling various medical imaging procedures and serving as a communication link between patients, providers, and clinic departments. The role involves data entry, maintaining patient records, and ensuring high-quality customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedule patient appointments according to guidelines and provider preferences.
• Inform and instruct patients on procedure/appointment preparation.
• Obtain and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
• Process physician orders as requested.
• Monitor and address all work queues and tasks in a timely manner.
• Provide clerical support for the department, providers, and staff.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and customer-friendly manner.
• Collaborate with other departments and outside entities for accurate scheduling and patient care continuity.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance patient care quality.

Requirements

• Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer completion of Health Care Administrative Specialist program or comparable experience in a healthcare facility.
• Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
• Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.
• Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and insight in problem-solving.
• Adjust to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment.
• General knowledge of insurance/insurance verification and/or medical necessity.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
