Responsibilities

• Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) for patients admitted for services.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks for patient admissions.
• Provide proper patient instructions and collect insurance information.
• Receive and process physician orders while utilizing an overlay tool.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to manage incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls.
• Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service with compassion.
• Meet point of service goals as assigned by the organization.
• Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure account accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct audits of accounts and ensure timely completion of necessary forms.
• Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calls for information collection.
• Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients and obtain necessary signatures.
• Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system and enter benefit data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.

Nice-to-haves
