About the position

The Patient Account Collection Specialist is responsible for managing patient receivables through outbound calls, ensuring excellent customer service while resolving account issues. This remote position requires living within an HCA Hospital market area and involves a combination of regular shifts and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Refer calls/accounts to appropriate parties based on customer inquiries.
  • Spend 90% of the day on the phone handling account follow-up and resolution.
  • Identify problem accounts and escalate as appropriate.
  • Update the patient account record to identify actions taken on the account.
  • Work with patients and guarantors to secure payment on outstanding account balances.
  • Maintain minimum production standards and achieve passing quality review scores per unit requirements.
  • Produce acceptable unit collection volumes and work within company attendance guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service and collaborate with team members and management professionally.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Previous Call Center experience preferred.
  • Minimum one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience with collections in healthcare revenue space is preferred.
  • Ability to work uninterrupted for shift (not including breaks/lunch).
  • High-speed internet with 25 MB Download and 15 MB Upload is required; Wifi is not permitted.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
