About the position
The Patient Account Collections Specialist is responsible for managing outbound calls and resolving patient receivables while delivering excellent customer service. This remote position requires the specialist to work from home, focusing on account follow-up and ensuring timely payments from patients and guarantors. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining production standards and quality reviews while working collaboratively with team members and management.
Responsibilities
- Refer calls/accounts to appropriate parties based on customer inquiries.
- Spend 90% of the day on the phone handling patient accounts.
- Identify problem accounts and escalate as appropriate.
- Update patient account records to reflect actions taken.
- Work with patients and guarantors to secure payment on outstanding balances.
- Maintain minimum production standards and achieve passing quality review scores.
- Produce acceptable unit collection volumes.
- Adhere to company attendance guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service and collaborate professionally with team members.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED preferred.
- Previous call center experience preferred.
- Minimum one year of related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.
- Experience with collections in the healthcare revenue space is preferred.
- Ability to work uninterrupted for the shift (not including breaks/lunch).
- High-speed internet with 25 MB Download and 6 MB Upload is required.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
