About the position

As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada's highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status. The position involves billing insurance companies, governmental agencies, and individual patients; following up on open accounts; resolving payment problems; and finalizing accounts.

Responsibilities

• Bill insurance companies, governmental agencies, and individual patients.
• Follow up on open accounts.
• Resolve payment problems.
• Finalize accounts.

Requirements

• Equivalent to high school graduation.
• Two (2) years of hospital and/or physician clinic billing and/or follow-up experience.
• 2+ years' experience with Insurance appeals for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers.
• Expertise in Payer Appeals and Disputes.
• Experience in utilizing the Medicare Common Working File, Medicaid EVS, and payer websites.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 2+ years experience with EPIC.
