About the position

The Patient Accounting Specialist I at INTEGRIS Health plays a crucial role in the Central Business Office Team, focusing on the accurate processing of healthcare claims in compliance with payer regulations. This position is essential for ensuring timely claim submissions and reimbursements, maintaining proper documentation, and following up on aged accounts, all while providing exceptional care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process healthcare claims according to payer compliance regulations.
  • Ensure timely claim submission and reimbursement from various third-party payers and/or patients.
  • Maintain proper account documentation in the facility's billing system.
  • Pursue follow-up efforts on aged accounts.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in insurance, billing, collections, or a related business environment.
  • Successful completion of a 1100+ related Career Tech program (medical billing/coding or accounting/bookkeeping) may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • College coursework in a related field or Healthcare Certification (CRCR, CRCS, CHAA) preferred.
  • Previous experience with medical terminology, basic ICD10 and CPT coding preferred.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Previous experience in billing, insurance resolution follow-up, cash posting, or customer service preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare Certification (CRCR, CRCS, CHAA) preferred.
  • Previous experience with medical terminology, basic ICD10 and CPT coding preferred.
