About the position
The Patient Accounts Manager at BJC HealthCare is responsible for overseeing the Patient Financial Services team, which includes managing billing, cash posting, denials management, and customer service. This role involves strategic leadership to ensure departmental goals are met while providing support to the Radiation and Oncology areas. The position allows for remote flexibility but requires candidates to be based in the St. Louis metro area.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Patient Financial Services team, including onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure productivity and actions of the team align with departmental operational goals.
- Develop and adhere to departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets.
- Monitor daily cash receipt flow and manage cash posting and credit balance processing.
- Work closely with compliance, managed care payers, and vendors to align objectives with revenue cycle goals.
- Monitor trends in revenue cycle functions and implement necessary changes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between revenue cycle departments and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience.
