About the position

The Patient Accounts Representative position is focused on supporting the reduction of Accounts Receivables within RWJBarnabas Health. This role involves assisting patients with their billing inquiries, managing appeals, and ensuring timely resolution of accounts. The representative will work collaboratively with various teams to maximize collections and improve overall financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Support maximization of collection of balances due or account resolution from all sources.
• Facilitate account resolution by submitting appeals and correcting billing errors.
• Timely identify, research, and resolve issues causing delays in payment or account resolution.
• Recommend opportunities to improve collections and follow-up activities.
• Work collaboratively across teams, with peers, and revenue cycle departments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years experience in Healthcare collections, with a focus on appeals
• Strong knowledge of Patient Accounting systems
• Strong knowledge of Healthcare contracts
• Ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
