About the position

At Mercy Hospital South, we are seeking dedicated Patient Ambassadors to join our team in providing exceptional support services to our patients. Under the direct supervision of the Patient Food Services Manager, the Patient Ambassador plays a crucial role in delivering patient-focused services across various areas, including food and nutrition, linen and laundry services, housekeeping, and supply management. This position is integral to ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care and support during their stay. The Patient Ambassador will be responsible for operating TUG robots, which are utilized for the efficient delivery and exchange of supplies and patient meals to the nursing units. This role requires a commitment to performing duties in alignment with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards, ensuring that every interaction reflects our dedication to compassionate care. Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-focused support services within a multidisciplinary scope.
  • Assist in food and nutrition services, linen, laundry services, housekeeping, and supply management.
  • Operate TUG robots for the delivery and exchange of supplies and patient meals to the nursing unit.
  • Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Interest in learning new skills and growing within the department.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages is preferred.
