About the position

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with enrollment in various health insurance programs, including Medicaid and CHIP. This position involves outreach and education activities aimed at increasing awareness and participation in evidence-based care, ensuring that community members receive the necessary support and information regarding their healthcare options.

Responsibilities

• Provide fair, impartial, and accurate information regarding health insurance programs.
• Assist with enrollment by assessing eligibility and completing applications for programs like Medicaid and CHIP.
• Explain the benefits of enrolling children in low-cost insurance options available through Pennsylvania.
• Maintain knowledge of eligibility, enrollment, and program specifications for Medicaid and CHIP.
• Conduct outreach and education activities to promote awareness of coverage options.
• Represent the Center at community events as assigned.
• Assist in developing marketing and promotional materials for outreach activities.
• Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to applicants.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and protect confidential information.
• Collect data to improve service activities and prepare monthly reports.
• Participate in training and workshops to discuss best practices and challenges.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience working with children and families in Public Health, Outreach, Social Work, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Medical Assistant Program, CHIP, and the COMPASS benefit application is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Accredited college or university schooling in Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or a similar field preferred.
