Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics. As a Patient Benefits Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the benefits they are entitled to. You will be responsible for responding to patient billing inquiries and partnering with internal departments to resolve issues. Your role will involve providing billing and payment information to patients and clients, reviewing insurance options, assisting with applications, and educating patients on their coverage. You will manage work queues, process adjustments, and stay updated on insurance programs. Additionally, you may conduct lead duties, provide training, perform quality audits, and undertake other duties as assigned. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.59 to $24.00, depending on experience, with the potential for higher pay for highly experienced candidates. We also provide 100% employer-paid health insurance, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, along with profit sharing and a 403(b) retirement plan. Generous paid time off (PTO) and eight paid holidays are also part of the benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient billing inquiries and partner with internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Provide billing and payment information to patients and clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • One year's experience with billing credit or patient benefits, preferably in a medical office.
  • Experience in special programs such as State Managed Care plans is preferred.
  • Affordable Care Act (ACA) Certification: Must pass the ACA exam.
