About the position

The Patient Billing Manager at York Hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Billing Department, ensuring effective management of all billing functions. This role involves training staff, addressing issues related to accounts receivable systems, claims setup, and payer interactions, while also focusing on process improvements and compliance within the department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Billing Department.
• Manage and participate in all areas affecting the billing function.
• Train new and existing staff on billing processes and systems.
• Address accounts receivable system issues and claims setup with the Executive Director.
• Facilitate work groups for special projects aimed at reducing denials.
• Provide status reports to the Executive Director regarding billing issues.
• Follow up on pending insurance payments and claims.
• Ensure compliance and maintain accurate recordkeeping.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of billing leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or business administration preferred.
• Certified Patient Account Manager (CPAM) desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Three (3) years of experience in a large healthcare organization.
